Well just in case you're not an obsessed Pumpkins fan like myself I'll fill you in on Their band history as well as some other crap. The "Main Man" William Patrick Corgan, born on March 17, 1967 in Chicago Illinois. He had a disruptive home life, he was sent to parent to step-parents and back again. He said once in a Rolling Stone Magazine "I felt like I was f*cked over. I thought, why the f*ck did you have me if you weren't going to take care of me?" At the age of 14, Billy's stepmother sent him to a psychiatrist b/c she thought he was suffering from persection complex. The psychiatrist was his stepmothers friend so he found it hard to explain what was wrong & that he though his stepmom was the problem. Billy has 2 brothers (ones a half-brother). His half-brother was mentally disabled and Billy spend a lot of time helping his brother out (Billy wrote Spaceboy for his half-brother). Music seemed to be Billy's only escape. After seeing his neighbor in his garage play an electric guitar, thats when he wanted to be a Rock star. Some of his biggest influences are Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, & The Cure. Billy was Deeply itelligent and academically bright, they all assumed that Billy would pursue a career in law. But he left school and got a job at a record store and moved in with his dad. So then Billy decided to hit the road with is talent as a lead guitarist in a band called The Marked (they were called The Marked b/c both Billy and the drummer had birthmarks-Billys is on his left hand). In 1987 The Marked move to St. Petersburg, Florida to get away from the Goth-Metal atmoshpere of Chicago. But Billy went back home pennieless, sick, & discouraged. James Iha, a Japanese-American from Chicago Illinois born on March 16, 1968. Like Billy, James also had a disabled brother. James thought himself how to play the guitar when he was a junior in high school. He was in a college band called Snake Train. He's got a cute dog named Bugg Superstar. With the two (Billy & James) sharing the same view in music they began to perform as a duet, their first appearances was playing at one of Chicagos many Polish clubs. The way that D'arcy and Billy met us actually quiet an interesting story. In 1988 Billy had an argument outside the city's Avalon Ballroom with D'arcy he was 20 she was 19. The argument was about how some music performs jumped around on stage and I guess Billy thought it was stupied and D'arcy was telling him that she play an insturment (the bass) and she kind of danced around too. So blah blah blah he asked her to come to his house b/c he was look for people to write with so she went and he said "before we can write together you have to learn these songs" and he handed her a tape with 40-50 songs on it-all of them made by him and every week he would have 10 more new songs. So as a trio they became the Smashing Pumpkins. So blah blah blah they need a drummer so Billy called up Jimmy Chamberlin born on June 10, 1964 in Chicago. So after the years went by they name awesome albums/songs. During the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness tour Jonathan Melvoin, (their tour keyboardest) died of a combination called Redrum (alcohol & heroin overdose). Jimmy Chamberlin was with him(but he was f*cked over too). Jimmy called 911 but it was to late Jonathan was already gone. So the Pumpkins decided to dump Jimmy (they been fighting with Jimmys drug addiction for a long time). So then the Pumpkins made there next album Adore, and they rehired Jimmy some time in March I think and there next ablum is due out sometime this September.
